GET ON GOOGLE'S 3-PACK
You know that your service has a high demand but your phone isn't ringing.
The probable reason is that you can't be found.
The fastest way to be found by your local community about your offer is to be there when they need you.
And, since online search has become today's Yellow Pages, it makes sense to appear where most of these searches takes place.
I'll show you how to do it.
Google's 3-Pack
The 3-Pack (also known as Google Local) is somewhat the holy grail of local search. Even though people search on Siri, Google, and ChatGPT . . . Google's 3-Pack still dominates the customer traffic.
Once you get that right, your website traffic (if you have one) will increase and your phone will start ringing - inquiries for your service will flow in.
Adding your business to GBP is a low hanging fruit, a very easy win.
Google doesn't keep the recipe for ranking in its 3-Pack a secret. It clearly states that it'll require optimizing your Google Business Profile (GBP), ensuring consistency of your business name, address, and contact number (NAP) in your profile and in reality.
Once done, you'll stand a chance on Google's 3-Pack if you're close to the searcher (proximity), if your service matches the search (relevance), and if well-known your business is popular.
That's enough to get a good start.
Bear in mind, however, that if your "competitors" do the same, you'll be after the Google 3-Pack. How is Google going to decide which three businesses deserve those positions?/p>
Ahhh... that's where the variables come in. Good rewards those with some those with local citations, photos as well as positive client reviews.
For the latter, regular updates is critical.
Step 1 - Add Your Profile
Visit GBP. Provide all the business information according to the prompts, the process is simple. Just make sure that the information provided is accurate.
Following that will be a verification process. Once verified, you're ready to be found on Google Local.
The good thing about this is you don't need a website to be found. It's easy to get started.
You need to ensure that your business description is clear, your operating hours are added, the list of services is complete. Also, you have to intentionally targetted local keywords like french translator in Beverly Hills” or “private vegan chef near Kabul”?
Once that is done, it signals to Google that your business is trustworthy, active, and ready to be ranked.
Step 2 - Add Posts Regularly
Posts shows Google that you're still active and relevant. Posts refer to offers, events, achievements, launches, etc and everything related to you business.
Posts should be short and clear, have a relevant image as well as a clear CTA.
Replace old content all the time.
Do it as once or twice a week. Consistency is important.
Step 3 - Add Photos Regularly
Photos are another ongoing signal to Google that you're active and relevant.
Clear and relevant photos are desired.
For certain service providers such as carpenters, hairdresser, handyman, graphic designer, renovators, etc. This is easy. Those providing desk-bound services may need to be creative.
Do it as once or twice a week. Consistency is important.
Step 4 - Add Praise Regularly
Praise refers to good reviews. Usually, less than 20% of your clients will write you a review. That means you need to chase after them for it.
Yes, you need to have a system that help your your recent clients leave you positive review on Google Pages. I have a product that teaches you how to do it naturally. Check it out here.
When your client write you a review (whether good or bad), respond to it as soon as you can. Google regards that as important as well.
This means you need to be monitoring your GBP daily as well. Again, consistency is important.
That's It
A one-time setup and some ongoing repeatable activities for the 3-Ps above. No guesswork, and nothing technical. This is nothing you can't do.
In summary, every single month, you're writing 8 posts, uploading 8 photos, adding 4 reviews + replies. This helps keep your business on the 3-Pack. Consistency is key here.
On average, to do this, it takes about 2 hours a week or 8 hours a month or consistent manual work to do. Keep at it so that momentum doesn't fade so that you don't disappear from the 3-Pack.
